Place is a new project based on the cardinal directions: North, South, East and West. American history is told through the use of surnames from gravestones that are nouns, verbs and adjectives. Each slipcase contains four folded booklets.

 

Place, 4 clothbound accordions encased in a clothbound portfolio. Accordions are digitally printed (one sided) on 100% cotton paper. Books are 4.5” x 9.5” closed and extend to 35” when open. The portfolio box is 10” x 5” x 2” closed and tied. It opens in four directions revealing maps printed using a digital offset printer. When opened it extends to 34” wide by 19” high.  When each book is place in its cardinal direction, the colophon is revealed.
